Gardasil 9
The new vaccine (Gardasil 9), offers protection against a total of nine HPV strains.
HPV types 16 and 18 are responsible for approximately 70% of all cervical cancers and HPV types 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58 are responsible for another 20% of cervical cancers. Gardasil 9 protects against infection with HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58.
Why this PGD?
Active immunisation to prevent:
- Premalignant genital lesions (cervical, vulvar and vaginal), premalignant anal lesions, cervical cancers and anal cancers causally related to 9 oncogenic Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types, as specified in the SmPC
- Genital warts (condyloma acuminata) causally related to the 9 HPV types, as specified in the SmPC
